Frequently Ask Questions.

  • Our playgroup and Kindergarten students learn in an immersive Montessori environment that teaches them to learn independently and think creatively. With our older students, DMS applies Montessori teaching and learning methods to the GES curriculum, ensuring that our students develop essential life skills while studying the same content as their peers around the country.

  • At DMS, we’re committed to maintaining an environment where children have ample adult supervision. Class sizes at DMS vary based on age and level of ability. Our youngest students join our playgroup of 14 students supervised by three teachers. Our primary school classes have a limit of 25 students, and the school maintains an overall balanced ratio of teachers and students.

  • We welcome students to our campus between 7:00 and 7:45 AM on weekdays. Lessons begin at 8 AM and end at 3 PM. We encourage parents to pick up their children on time, late pickups (after 5 pm) attract a small fee at a half-hourly rate to cover the cost of adult supervision after school hours.

  • DMS currently follows the modified Ghana Education Service school calendar that came into effect after the COVID-19 lockdowns ended. The current school year is divided into three terms; January to April, May to August, and September to December, with breaks of 3-4 weeks between each term. The official school calendar with specific vacation and return dates will be shared with parents at the beginning of every school year.
